TAKI Chef - Tadashi Takinami

We are delighted to unveil the heart and soul of TAKI Japanese Cuisine – our esteemed chef, Tadashi Takinami. With over three decades of experience in the art of Japanese gastronomy, Chef Takinami’s culinary journey has been one of passion, dedication, and innovation.

Hailing from the picturesque town of Ichiyoshi, Okayama in Japan, Chef Takinami’s cooking career began in 1976. Inspired by the rich culinary heritage of his homeland, he embarked on a lifelong quest to master the intricacies of Japanese cuisine. Throughout his illustrious career, Chef Takinami has honed his skills, staying true to the authentic flavors and techniques that define traditional Japanese fare.

In 1989, destiny led Chef Takinami to the city of Toronto, Canada, where he found a new home at the renowned Japanese restaurant, NAMI. Embracing the vibrant food scene of the city, Chef Takinami’s culinary prowess quickly earned him recognition among diners and peers alike.

After more than 30 years of leaving an indelible mark on the legacy of NAMI, Chef Takinami’s journey took an exciting turn. Drawn by a desire to offer guests a personalized and immersive dining experience, he embraced the concept of Omakase at ATO Japanese Restaurant. Here, he had the opportunity to present his culinary finesse through bespoke tasting menus, showcasing the freshest seasonal ingredients and providing guests with an unforgettable culinary adventure.

And now, with great pride and anticipation, we present TAKI Japanese Cuisine – the culmination of Chef Takinami’s lifelong passion for Japanese culinary traditions. At TAKI, Chef Takinami brings together the finest flavors of Japan, expertly prepared with his signature touch. Each dish is a masterpiece, a harmonious symphony of tastes and textures that tell a story of dedication, creativity, and the essence of Japan.
